Speech Analysis

Starting this project I had no idea what I was going to use as a common thread and in the beginning I struggled. Once I finally found a thread I felt that I had a better grasp on the entire project but after watching myself I see that I could have done a much better job. I think content wise I could have made my thread a little more prominent through repetition and better stories. After I heard everyone else's speeches, I thought of so many more interesting stories I could have told to engage with the audience more. My presentation could have used some work as well, after watching myself (which was just weird) I realized that I talk very fast and said um way too much. It is something that I knew I did, and I tried to work on. I think I did better than I have in the past but I still need to work on it. I also did not realize how often I looked at my slides when I did not need to. I need to work on eye contact with the audience. Something that I had no idea was doing was moving my arms around a lot in such an unorganized fashion. I think it made me look more nervous than anything. Next time I want to work on walking around some and not so many arm movements. Overall I think I did a pretty good job on my speech and being able to watch myself let me know what I need to work on for the next speech.
